Have you made any New Year’s resolutions? Each year millions of people make a list of the things that they will look to achieve or do differently this year. The process of revaluating where you are in life is really important and the New Year gives you a great opportunity to do so.
Personally I don’t make them.

Why?

Because if things don’t go to plan and I lose track, I don’t want to have to wait a whole year before I can set new intentions.

Every day, hour, even minute is a new chance at refocussing where your efforts are going. Weight loss is one of those resolutions that is so easy to break.

However the Christmas and New Year holidays do give you a chance to review the areas in your life that you wish to improve on and to that end I did have a think about what I wanted to get better.

Normally I am fairly active, with different physical activities 3 days a week. Nowhere near being a gym bunny but better than sitting on the couch.
My main problem with weight is what I eat. I have tried dieting, I have tried intermittent fasting, I still use meal replacements on the days I train but I don’t seem to be shifting much weight.

So my main target for this month is to get signed up with Noom. Click here to find out how much weight you could lose for good

One of the things that appeals to me about the Noom health and wellness program is the fact that it uses psychology rather than a strict diet. The mind is such a powerful tool and as I spend a lot of time looking into my own I think Noom might be interesting to try out.

Whilst this isn’t directly something I learnt from Noom, it was an observation that made me think differently about a certain aspect of food.
One of my weaknesses is eating food that I might consider going to waste. For example if my children leave half a burger when we go out. My original thought process was that I should eat that burger as it’s a waste if I don’t.

However this article I read pointed out a couple of things to me.
1) The money has already been spent on the burger, therefore it doesn’t cost any more money to throw the burger in the bin.
2) Losing weight costs a combination of time, effort and potentially cash (gym memberships etc). By eating the leftover burger I’m actually creating additional effort for me to lose weight. So the real waste is time and effort in losing the additional weight the left over burger has now given me.

I think Noom will make a real difference to my weight loss effort. If you are looking to try out Noom then click below and you can get a free 14 day trial
